SimpleWOL Agent End User License Agreement

Last updated: June 14, 2026

This EULA governs installation and use of the SimpleWOL Agent for Windows ("Agent"). By continuing installation, you state that you have read and accepted this EULA, the Terms of Use, and the Privacy Policy.

1. License

SimpleWOL grants you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the Agent on computers you own or are expressly authorized to administer.

2. Purpose of the Agent

The Agent runs as a Windows service to register the computer with the SimpleWOL cloud, maintain a secure AWS IoT connection, receive authorized remote commands, perform allowed local actions, and publish technical health signals such as connection and heartbeat events.

3. Remote commands and shutdown

When enabled, the Agent may receive remote shutdown commands. This can close applications, end sessions, cancel tasks, drop connections, and cause loss of unsaved data. Do not install or use the Agent on critical, medical, industrial, emergency, security, or mission-essential systems.

4. Rules of use

You agree not to:

5. Local data and diagnostics

The Agent stores configuration and logs in local Windows directories. Technical diagnostic upload to support is separate from this EULA, optional, and disabled by default. Accepting the EULA is not consent to diagnostic upload. When authorized, diagnostics are redacted to remove known secrets and sent on a best-effort basis.

6. Updates

The Agent may check an update manifest and open a manual update flow through the official installer. There is no promise of automatic update, immediate fix, or indefinite support for old versions. Download installers only from www.simplewol.click or official channels announced by the project.

7. Operational security

You are responsible for keeping Windows, firmware, BIOS, local network, and Amazon account secure. You should also review device names and permissions before enabling remote commands. Local Windows administrators may access configuration files and logs.

8. Termination and uninstall

You may uninstall the Agent at any time. The uninstaller may remove local files and, when authorized, request removal of the Agent's cloud registration in SimpleWOL. Local uninstall does not necessarily remove all operational records already retained in the backend.

9. No warranties

The Agent is provided "as is", without warranty of availability, compatibility, error-free operation, command success, prevention of data loss, or fitness for a particular purpose. Use it at your own risk.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, SimpleWOL and its contributors will not be liable for indirect damages, data loss, downtime, work interruption, misuse, hardware failure, network failure, antivirus/EDR blocking, configuration errors, or third-party actions.

11. Changes

This EULA may be updated. Relevant changes may be published on this page or presented in future installer versions.

12. Contact

Questions about this EULA may be sent to contact@simplewol.click.
